SKLGP Signed a Memorandum of Understanding with China Ordnance Industry Survey and Geotechnical Institute to Protect Historical Relics

 

On December 7th, 2015, invited by SKLGP, President Meng Yun from China Ordnance Industry Survey and Geotechnical Institute and his party visited our lab and signed a memorandum of understanding to protect historical relics. The Director of SKLGP, Professor Huang Runqiu, and Professor Li Tianbin, Professor Pei Xiangjun who are the Dean and Vice Dean of Environment and Civil Engineering College, Professor Feng Wenkai--the deputy director of SKLGP, attended the signing ceremony. On behalf of SKLGP, Professor Huang Runqiu signed the memo with Meng Yun. According to the agreement, two sides will carry out deep cooperation in the research of prevention and treatment of ancient architecture defects, the protection of cliff inscription and ancient architecture measurement and digital image technology etc.

 

At the signing ceremony, Professor Huang Runqiu introduced SKLGP in the aspects of research direction, education and social services, etc. Mr. Meng introduced the China Ordnance Industry Survey and Geotechnical Institute and the achievements made by the Institute in IT, underground water environment protection and historical relic protection. Mr.Meng thought highly of SKLGP’s research, and hoped that the cooperation can be expanded through the memo, combing talents with the scientific research, which is in accordance with the market needs.

 

Then, General Manager Liu Weihua of the Historical Relic Protection Company and the Chief Engineer Zhao Shuqiang as well as the regular researcher Professor Chen Guoqing respectively reported protection condition of Imperial Palace. After that, a heated discussion was held on the difficulties of historical relic protection, the urgent scientific research and the next stage of cooperation.

 

Finally, Mr. Meng accompanied with the deputy director Feng Wenkai, made a tour to the equipment in SKLGP. Two sides wished to share resources, promoting the transformation of scientific research and the education of talents.

 

The China Ordnance Industry Survey and Geotechnical Institute, founded in 1952, is a large comprehensive national exploration and design institute ranked the first rate in China, affiliated to the China Ordnance Industry Group. It is mainly engaged in geotechnical engineering, hydro-geological investigation, exploration and mapping engineering, geohazard investigation, assessment, design, management and environmental impact assessment, construction drawing review, geographic information system engineering and the development of equipments. As the standing director of the China Exploration and Design Association, China Ordnance Industry Survey and Geotechnical Institute is the chief editor of The Engineering Geology Manual, The Water Supply and Hydro-geological Manual, Factory Construction Measurement Manual, The Geotechnical Engineering Series and The Geotechnical Engineering Record. It makes the contribution for the improvement and development of engineering exploration technology in China.
